Solutions’ stand (#A3-3217), a new silicone-based slip additive for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) film that optimizes form-fill-seal (FFS) packaging production. The company will also showcase select materials from its broader portfolio of silicone-based masterbatches that collectively enhance processing, extend properties and reinforce materials.

As part of its silicone technology line-up at Fakuma 2018, Dow Performance Silicones will also feature at the DuPont stand (#B4-4200) its recently introduced, patented DOW CORNING™ HMB-1903 Masterbatch. This silicone-based, anti-squeak technology for automotive interior parts immediately and permanently reduces the coefficient of friction (COF) in PC/ABS components to minimize noise, vibration and harshness.

Dow Performance Silicones other advanced silicone-based solutions, on display at Fakuma, target a range of major industry sectors and popular resins and compounds, including polyolefins and polyamides. Highlights will include an anti-scratch technology that enhances the aesthetics of automotive interior components, and a cost-effective masterbatch that optimizes processability of highly mineral-filled polyethylene (PE) compounds for wire & cable insulation and jacketing.

For wear parts used in appliances and under-the-hood automotive applications, Dow Performance Silicones will spotlight a silicone-based solution that delivers slip and wear performance similar to polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) additives, but without the use of potentially toxic fluorine. For flexible packaging, in addition to the new product being launched at the show, the company will feature a non- migrating slip technology for bi-axially oriented PP (BOPP) and PP cast film that enables superior printing and metallization.

Fakuma 2018 will be held 16-20 October at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Centre in Germany. Attendees are invited to stop by the two Dow Performance Silicones exhibits, where the business unit’s technical experts will be available to discuss how advanced silicone-based technologies can help customers enhance their application performance and processing.
