Described as an industry ‘eye-opener’ Propak West Africa 2018 publishes it’s hotly anticipated Postshow Report from its 6th edition last month.

Propak West Africa brought together industry professionals from across the packaging, plastics, processing and printing supply chains. As the region’s leading exhibition, Propak West Africa and its co-located Conference is dedicated to facilitating business connections, valuable learning opportunities and sharing market insights.

With a record-breaking 4,265 attendees and at 2,049 SQM in size, this year’s Propak West Africa was the largest edition to date. Attendees increased by an astonishing 31% from 2017 while the size of the show itself grew by almost 40% after adding a brand new third Hall. Positioning itself as a truly international event, the exhibition attracted visitors from 32 different countries, the top five of which included Nigeria, Benin, Cameroon, Senegal, South Africa and Togo.

The exhibition was opened by Mr Hakeem O. Adeniji, Director of Commerce for Lagos State Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Representing the Lagos State Governor on Tuesday 18th September, who briefly took to the stage to endorse the exhibition; “I commend the leadership of Propak West Africa for this initiative aimed at providing a unique platform to showcase various innovative products from the industry.”

Over the three-day exhibition and conference, 141 exhibitorsshowcased live demonstrations of cutting-edge machinery, the likes of which hadn’t been showcased at Propak West Africa before. Most notably the two largest machines on display, Neofyton’s all electric ENGEL (E-MOTION) machine and the MEPER Extrusion Blow-Molding machine both sold to Nigerian companies during the show.

The 75% re-book rate achieved during the exhibition for those looking to secure their stands ahead of 2019 spoke volumes to the success of the event. Among those re-booking for next year are PanAsia Tech, SkySat andWindmoller&Holscher, Sona Group doubled their stand size based on results this year and Geepee Industries attended as visitors and booked the largest stand in Hall 2 for 2019.

One exhibitor commented “Propak West Africa is a great platform that is great for launching new products, networking and sales also. We met new and exciting clients and we made huge sales also. We look forward to the next.” SudhansuJamkar, Managing Director, Aayra International Ltd.

This year, visitors were able to explore three halls packed with innovative technology and products, they had the opportunity to connect with relevant suppliers, manufacturers and distributors to further enhance business opportunities in addition to key learning opportunities offered at the Conference.

Organisers welcomed39 senior experts from some of the industry’s most recognisable brands as they hosted compelling discussions aimed at shedding light on crucial issues affecting the industry. Some of the key focuses this year were on market opportunities for SMEs, brand enhancement strategies, technological advancements in the sector, advantages of sustainability and waste management alongside many more.

Mr Adetayo Adeyemo from Pharma Deko Plc had this to say; “The array of speakers at the Conference and the quality of presentations was worthy of being paid for. I was glued to my seat taking notes.”

Propak West Africa is set to return to the Landmark Centre in Lagos, Nigeria from 17 – 19 September 2019. Due to the high demand in exhibition space, organisers would urge those interested to get in touch as soon as possible to secure a great space.
